Our Professional Driveway Cleaning & Sealing Package Includes
Preparation
Correct preparation of a block-paved driveway surface is imperative before any cleaning and sealing work commences, to ensure the best, first-class finish. We first remove all unwanted vegetation, including moss, weeds, algae and lichen. We then soak the whole area with our specially designed biocide fungal wash formula, which soaks through and, over a short time, kills every root, spore and organic growth present on your block paving or hard surface. During this process we also pre-treat existing stains such as tyre marks, chewing gum, bird droppings and ground-in vegetation marks, and remove them as best we can.
Pressure Washing and Cleaning
This is followed by our hydro pressure wash with special hard-surface cleaning equipment. The machine has a skirt around its perimeter that keeps dirty water and debris at ground level (saves upsetting your neighbours). This process takes away a thin layer of the kiln-dried sand, which is replaced in the next stage.
Jointing Sand
Once the area has dried sufficiently, we replace the sand displaced by the power washing with kiln-dried sand, swept right into the joints of the block pavers to lock the bricks together for strengthening purposes.
Block Paving Sealing
Once we are happy with the cleaned surface and it is bone dry, an application of your chosen sealer is applied, available in matt or silk finishes, keeping your driveway looking fantastic for much longer. We also offer a minor repair service for most driveway surfaces – any damage can be assessed and quoted for on site.
Can You Remove All the Surface Weeds?
Weed-free surfaces are a rarity, since even sealed concrete has joints and cracks that trap dirt, allowing weeds such as Japanese knotweed to take root and push their way out from between paving slabs. Weeds are persistent and cannot be eliminated altogether, but can be drastically slowed with our professional weed killers, cleaning and sealing methods.
It is common for the kiln-dried sand that fills the joints of your block paving to erode and wash away, filling instead with dirt and soil that lets weeds take root. To minimise this, it's always advisable to have weed-killing treatment prior to cleaning, then seal once the new sand has been replaced.
Do I need to replace the block paving joints with sand? The answer is always yes. Replacing all block paving joints with new kiln-dried sand is essential, as it strengthens and locks the whole driveway together, spreading the load evenly across the surface. If the sand is missing, individual blocks take the strain when bearing a load, the paving becomes loose and deteriorates, and expensive repairs can follow. As soon as your driveway has been cleaned and is bone dry, we apply and sweep in the replacement sand so your drive becomes a strong surface again, able to take heavy traffic with no noticeable subsidence or dipping.

Roof Cleaning Derby

Are you experiencing a build-up of moss, lichen and algae on your roof tiles? Are you tired of moss continually rolling down your roof and filling your gutters and downpipes, or lumps of moss on your drive and patio? If so, we have a solution with our roof cleaning and moss removal service.
Our method of removing this unsightly, unwanted moss and organic matter is safe, eco-friendly and does not damage your roof tiles, unlike more aggressive methods such as power washing, which we do not recommend. Please think twice before you allow jets of water to be blasted from all angles onto your roof tiles.
Reasons Not to Power Wash Your Roof
- Not recommended by roof tile manufacturers
- Flooding the loft
- Roof tile damage
- Cement work damage
- Can cause tile discolouration
- Moss spores are dispersed along with bacteria
- This method of roof cleaning is dangerous
- Guttering damaged and blocked by falling moss
Our Roof Cleaning Service Levels
We offer a much safer, eco-friendly and less damaging solution for the removal of moss, lichen and algae, leaving your roof looking in pristine condition, at a level that fits your budget.
1) Roof Moss Removal Only
Full removal of the moss from your roof tiles. A great choice if you are on a budget, though not a long-term method of keeping moss at bay – a good short-term option if you'd like the moss removed to tidy up your house for selling purposes, together with a driveway clean for great kerb appeal.
2) Moss Removal + Soft Wash Biocidal Fungal Wash Treatment
Complete removal of all moss as in option 1, plus the soft wash biocidal fungal wash treatment, which kills and eliminates all moss, lichen and algae spores on your roof. Our motor-driven pumps disperse this specially developed liquid to every part of the roof.
3) Premium Service – Moss Removal + Soft Wash Biocidal Fungal Treatment + Roof Treatment Sealer
Our most popular service and the best long-term option, especially if you're planning to stay in your property. The added roof sealer protects and guards your roof from further infestation and regrowth – and your roof will look new again.

Gutter Cleaning in Derby
Unattended, overflowing and blocked gutters usually cause more serious and expensive work later if the problem isn't taken care of quickly. Your gutters have an important job – when rainwater flows over your roof and into your gutters, the guttering system collects it and guides it down your drainpipes into the drains. If this simple system is blocked, it can't do what it's supposed to do, and rainwater will start to cascade down your walls.
Brickwork, cement, render, timber frames and doorways will all be exposed to water if your guttering is blocked. This excess rainwater accumulating at the base of your house will, over time, cause expensive damage to your foundations, garden areas and external hard surfaces like your driveway, paths and patios.
An inspection once a year can pay for itself, giving you important knowledge you can act on quickly if your guttering needs maintenance. If you suspect your gutters are blocked and not performing correctly, please contact us urgently on 01332-327452 – A.S.A.P. Prevention is always cheaper in the long run.
It's easy to overlook maintaining your gutters, as they're difficult to see from ground level and it can be dangerous for the average person to climb a ladder to check them. We have the latest professional detection equipment and operatives trained to work safely at heights, fully covered by our insurance policies, with our own scaffold towers for difficult areas.
Our unique method of gutter cleaning uses our own vacuums and extendable suction poles, which efficiently and safely remove all the moss and debris collected inside your gutters. Any damaged gutter clips or guttering will be brought to your attention, and we can mend or replace them for a small extra fee – we advise against the “quick fix” of clear silicon that some companies use, as it doesn't stand the test of time.
How much do you charge for gutter cleaning in Derby?
A starting price of £40.00 for the front and rear of a property. A standard 2 to 3 bedroom house from around £60.00. We only charge for what we do – no hidden charges!

Conservatory Roof & UPVC Deep Clean
Is your conservatory's UPVC framework looking dull, tired, grey and dirty? Is the roof and windows covered in grime, moss, mould and algae, no longer letting the sun shine through? If so, let us restore all the UPVC framework, glass panels and windows back to how they looked when new, with our professional UPVC and glass cleaning process.
Cleaning and Our Special Access Equipment
We have heavily invested in state-of-the-art access equipment that allows us to clean all areas of conservatories, including large roof areas, with ease – unlike untrained contractors who step directly onto these delicate structures. Our lightweight aluminium scaffolding towers and telescopic reaching poles with soft brushes make light work without causing any damage.
Conservatory Maintenance
These conservatories cost a great deal, so it makes good sense to keep them maintained and cleaned regularly. The UK weather can soon make them look tired, dirty and drab – our professional cleaning programme keeps them looking fresh and protects your investment.
Conservatory Roof Cleaning
The roof is often a neglected area, exposed to bird droppings, moss, algae, fallen leaves, lichen and other organic matter. Left untreated, this can cause damage and deterioration to the UPVC frames and fittings, and the longer it's left, the harder the build-up is to remove.
Our Safe, Proven Conservatory Cleaning Method
We do not recommend or use high-pressure jets, or standing on conservatory roofs, as this can cause serious damage and leaking where rubbers meet glass panes.
First Phase – We apply our commercial-grade biocidal fungal wash at low pressure to all areas of the conservatory and allow it to work, killing all biological growth on UPVC frames and glass or polycarbonate panels alike.
Second Phase – We remove all the now-loose debris, dirt and vegetation using specially designed anti-scratch telescopic carbon-fibre poles with soft micro brushes, reaching every part of the structure safely.
Third Phase – Once the frames, guttering and fascias are cleaned to our satisfaction, we clean the glass panels using our reverse-osmosis method with purified water – no smears or streaking, just fresh, sparkling glass.
Please Note: conservatory roof cleaning and maintenance can be difficult and dangerous without experience, knowledge, the correct equipment or working-at-heights training. Our skilled, insured operatives do this every day – please do not attempt this yourself.
Call us now on 01332-327452 for a free quote and friendly advice. We only use non-abrasive, non-toxic, eco-friendly solutions, avoiding any damage to UPVC frames, glass or fixings.
Bird Proofing Solar Panels, Pigeon Proofing Solar Panels, Derby
Are you experiencing the same problems that thousands of other solar panel owners face, from pigeons and other birds? Lots of noise, fluttering, scratching and cooing coming from your roof area, keeping you awake at night? It's possible pigeons have moved in behind your solar panels and are nesting there. If you're finding excess debris and bird droppings on your roof, solar panels and guttering, you probably already have an infestation.
Unfortunately, your solar panels offer a perfect safe haven for nesting pigeons – warm, secure and protected from predators and harsh weather. They can breed all year round, laying up to 4 eggs at a time, up to 5 times a year. The damage and cost these nesting birds cause to solar panels and homes across the country runs into millions of pounds – your expensive solar panels and PV system are at risk, along with the wiring and your roof's guttering and drainage system. They also bring disease that adds to the problem.
Solar Panel Reduction in Power & Energy
Nesting material and bird droppings reduce panel effectiveness. One pigeon can excrete up to 15kg of waste annually, deposited on and underneath your panels, affecting their output and efficiency.
Solar Panel Damage
Constant pigeon activity underneath your panels can damage the wiring and circuitry – their fouling is corrosive due to its high acidity.
Fire Risks
Nesting material built from twigs, leaves and debris around the electrical cabling can be ignited by a single spark, creating a real fire risk under the panel.
Health Risks from Pigeons
Pigeon fouling brings serious bacteria and pathogens that can cause illness, including salmonellosis and ornithosis, which can result in blindness and other conditions. Pigeon fouling also brings fleas, ticks, lice and bird mites into your property via the roof area. Bird proofing is the only way to eradicate these ongoing problems.
Render Cleaning
Is the render on your house or business premises looking grimy and dirty? Do you have black, brown or yellowing marks or streaks on the surface? This is a common problem across Derby, caused by bacteria, fungi and algae dispersing over the rendering. Our professional render cleaning specialists have been helping eradicate this issue for local Derby residents for many years, handling render, brickwork and stone cleaning for both commercial and domestic customers. Our soft-wash technique is kind to all external hard surfaces and won't damage the surface. Phone now for a fast, competitive quote – call now on Derby 01332-327452.

Resin Bonded Driveway Cleaning & Maintenance

Resin bonded driveways are a relatively new driveway surface compared to standard block paving, imprinted concrete or tarmac. Resin surfaces still need a maintenance programme to look after them over their lifespan and protect your investment. Pressure cleaning with a maximum 150 bar rating and cold water is often advised, but we use a different method – our soft-wash approach eliminates the need for high-pressure cleaning altogether. We use specialist low-pressure equipment that soaks the area in a biodegradable cleaning liquid, loosening grime, stains, markings and tyre marks, while also killing the organic matter growing within the porous surface, including lichen, moss, algae and weeds.
Our Special Resin Bound Drive Surface Protector
After cleaning your resin-bound driveway, a surface protector can be applied if you want to reduce future maintenance visits – please ask for this when you book, as we order the protector in specially.
We always recommend an annual clean to keep algae or tough stains from building up on the resin surface, which is porous and permeable, allowing water to soak through.
Simple Maintenance Tips
- Sweep the surface with a stiff brush on a regular basis
- Remove any unwanted stones, rocks or hard objects that could cause damage if driven over
- Clean and soak up spillages, especially oil, as quickly as you can
- Remove fallen leaves, conkers, twigs or other vegetation before it decomposes and stains the surface
- If you get chewing gum on the resin surface, try freezing it first, then chip it away with a hard plastic tool

Patio Cleaning, Sealing and Restoration
With summer approaching, have you thought about having your patio and outdoor areas pressure washed and cleaned ready for the warm weather? Contact us to book an appointment for a professionally cleaned patio or outdoor area – why do all this hard, dirty work yourself when we can do it in a fraction of the time with our commercial cleaning equipment?
We can treat the area prior to power washing with our specially formulated biocidal fungal wash, which soaks in and kills weeds, algae, moss and lichen. Our high-powered pressure washing removes even the most stubborn, impermeable grime and dirt, and we have hot water and steam available for difficult areas that a standard home pressure washer couldn't cope with.
Having your patio deep cleaned and maintained at least once a year helps with the longevity of the surface. We can also apply an industrial protective sealant after cleaning, once the area is bone dry, helping keep the surface protected from the harsh British weather.

Moss Removal
As our climate becomes warmer and more humid, you've probably noticed more moss growth around your home. These green moss patches grow along concrete, brickwork and other hard surfaces such as pathways, driveways, roof tiles and brick walls. We specialise in the eradication and removal of this unsightly organic growth, including lichen, algae and weed infestation – left untreated, they can damage hard surfaces in ways that become costly to fix.
What Exactly Is Moss?
Moss is a low-growing, flowerless plant that grows in dense clumps or mats, mostly in shady, damp areas of your property. Most people class it as a fungus, but it actually has tiny leaves that contain chlorophyll, unlike fungi.
Why Is Moss Bad for My Roof?
Moss growth can cause roof damage. Moss is highly effective at absorbing moisture, meaning moisture trying to escape your roof gets held within the moss. Moss also grows between roof tiles, taking up the gaps and eventually lifting tiles, exposing the roof felt and structural timbers underneath to the elements – over time this produces serious structural damage such as decaying timbers, split tiles and damp insulation.
What Can I Do to Prevent Moss Growth?
Trim trees back to allow more exposure to natural sunlight, and prune branches so they don't touch your home – falling seeds and spores from surrounding trees can settle on roof tiles and other hard surfaces and produce organic growth later on.
Moss Cleaning and Regular Maintenance
The best approach is a regular cleaning and maintenance programme for your roof and any external hard surface exposed to the elements. Guttering, driveways, patios and soak aways are particular havens for moss growth, as they're most likely to stay damp with dirty water and fallen leaves. Having your guttering cleaned regularly by professionals is a sound, cost-effective investment that helps minimise moss growth on your roof.
