There is nothing that looks better than a newly laid block paved driveway. Fresh dry kiln sand between the joints and the surface sealed to protect against the weather. It’s the first thing you see when you pull into your drive.
Unfortunately, over time the surface deteriorates, becomes dirty, covered in weeds in the sanded joints, and loss of original colour.
Block paving like everything external needs maintaining due to what the natural elements and nature throw at it.
The build-up of moss, lichen and algae can look unsightly and become hazardous and slippery when wet.
Block paving cleaning Nottingham
The solution is to get your driveway cleaned on a regular basis and keep the surface in top condition. You have paid thousands of pounds for the original paving installation, if you do not clean, treat and seal regularly the driveway may need expensive repairs in the future.
It really does pay to keep up with some kind of maintenance programme of your initially expensive laid driveway.
Block paving restoration and what you get for your money
An initial inspection is always necessary to assess the state of the surface needing restoring. If a driveway is heavily covered and infested in moss, algae and weeds, a good soaking with our specially formulated fungicidal organic weed killer prior to the surface being cleaned.
This is sometimes completed a few weeks before or even repeated before we are happy to start the full cleaning of the drive. Rest assured that our weed killer is safe to animals, contains zero bleach, acid and we mix the soluble concentrate with water, So the solution penetrates right through into the root systems between the paving blocks killing all the unwanted vegetation.
Once all the growth on your drive has been eliminated the main hydro clean and restoration can take place. We have invested in state of the art pressure washing cleaning equipment, industrial grade, to tackle this. Many driveway cleaning companies use normal jet washes but we find this can cause a streaking effect on the surface, which is not desirable and not a good look, also it throws loose debris around and becomes messy.
Our modern rotary flat surface cleaners have water injection heads inside that spin around a skirted frame so all loose material is stopped from flying around and upsetting your neighbours, hitting cars and keeping everything tidy at ground level. We have special products to deal with specific stains, like oil, grease, and black marks left by lichen and moss, plus other organic growths.
Once the surface has been fully cleaned we can deal with any heavy staining with one of our chosen products. If you require any minor repairs to the surface we can sort them out, we will always discuss with you what needs repairing before work commences and advise you first if we think a repair is necessary.
After a block paving area has been cleaned, the top layer of the sand between the joints of the pavers will have washed away. This kiln-dried sand has to be replaced but can only be swept in when the area is bone dry. The sand between the joints locks all the blocks together and strengthens the whole structure, so it is an important part of the driveway.
After the dry-kiln sand has been swept into the joints it is important to think about sealing the now clean driveway. The sealers we use soak into the blocks and joints and offer crucial protection to your refurbished driveway.
Weeds and vegetation growth will be drastically reduced due and the sealers we use will keep stains and marks down to a minimum on your block paving in the future. The block paving sealer protects your driveway pavers from intense UV light which causes fading to your blocks.
Depending on your taste the industrial sealers come in a variety of finishers, matt, silk or damp looking, just inform us which look that you wish to create and leave the rest to us.
The sealers really do transform your driveway area and bring out the natural colours of the blocks. It all depends on you budget but i cannot stress the importance of treating and sealing the block pavers, it will keep your lovely drive in pristine condition for a longer period of time than if you choose not to.
You can totally rejuvenate and bring a new lease of life back to the tired and dirty area you once called a driveway. We can make it look new again and you can pull onto the area with your car and smile, because you have made a wise and cost effective decision.
Your block paved driveway would have been thousands of pounds to install, but regular servicing needs to be done to keep it that way.

Tarmac and Asphalt renovation
Tarmac can become old and tired quite quickly and look nothing like it did when originally laid. What was once a clear and attractive area at the front of your property is now an eyesore and lacking in kerb appeal. We have a solution to this problem and can restore the faded surface back to when it was first installed.
Unfortunately, tarmac is a great surface for moss and algae to grow as it’s porous and usually damp, perfect conditions for roots and organic matter to take hold and cultivate.
Because tarmac is an oil-based material, when you try to remove any stains from the surface it also removes the colour pigments which causes fading and discolouration.
Our transformation process covers the original tarmac with a durable bonded black surface that is less porous to moss re-growth.
Any small repairs can be dealt with before the application. This is an industrial product and not to be mistaken by some of the inferior bitumen paints that are on the market. Our team can transform your tarmac and asphalt in this most cost-effective way, this will save you a considerable amount of money, other than replacing your driveway.

Imprinted concrete driveway cleaning and sealing
This type of driveway is a good choice, as maintaining this type of surface is less hassle than your block paved option. A good jet wash with our pressure washing machine can take away all the dirt and debris and have the area looking nice and clean.
The key to keeping imprinted concrete in pristine condition and stopping the colour pigments from fading is to re-seal the area on a regular basis. The secret is to keep the top layer sealed over the initial coating that was placed when the driveway was first installed. The more that the concrete and first coat is exposed to the elements, the harder is is to bring back to the drives original beauty.
Our recommendation is to reseal with another coat every 3 years, this timescale can sometimes be reduced for really heavy vehicle use. At the end of the day you invested a good amount of money on your initial imprinted concrete drive, it is a wise choice to take care of the surface.
